Christopher Charles Griffith, born January 27, 1983, died on July 23, 2010 of complications arising from a two and a half year battle with leukemia. Chris grew up in Michigan, Illinois, and Maryland, attended Southern High School in Harwood, MD and earned his baccalaureate degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where he became a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.
Chris’ interests included bowling, pool, snowboarding, and technology and he was an ardent fan of the Detroit Red Wings, hockey team.
Chris will be dearly missed, and is survived by his parents, Eva and Les Griffith, and his sisters, Sarah and Katie Griffith of Dunkirk, MD, his grandparents, Charles and Margaret Tricsli of Taylor, MI, his father, Rodney Ward of Brownstown Township, MI, several aunts and uncles, Ms. Melissa Allison, his loving girlfriend, and countless friends and co-workers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Chris volunteered for the society to thank them for the support they provided during his illness and to further their cause—to find a cure for blood-related cancers.
