Marian Frances Beavers, 87, of Bowie, MD passed away July 27, 2010 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. Marian was born September 11, 1922 in Baltimore, MD to Pasquala and Rosa Gugluizza Messina. She was raised in Washington D.C. where she attended public school. She married Joseph D. Beavers and lived in Washington, D.C., Lewisdale, MD and Bowie, MD since the early 1980’s. She was employed as a switchboard operator and supervisor at Doctor’s Hospital in Lanham, MD and at N.A.S.A. in Greenbelt, MD, retiring in 2002. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband Joseph and by her son Richard Joseph Beavers. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Diana L. Beavers of Owings, a granddaughter Shannell S. “Shelley” Beavers and husband Rodney King of Owings and a grandson Joseph R. “JR” Beavers and wife Judith Arthur of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Jocelyn King, Jaelyn King and Jolie Beavers and by nieces Helen Zug of Annapolis and Charlotte Martin of Huntingtown, MD.
