Claude Garrett Tyler, SSGT. United States Army, 25, was shot down over New Guinea on October 27, 1943 . Claude was born August 11, 1918 in Norton, Virginia to Crawford Marion and Florence Rebecca (Edins) Tyler. Claude resided in Landover, MD before joining the U. S. Army. His mother Florence Tyler died in 1963 and his father Crawford died in 1970. Claude had a sister Gladys F. Paddy, brother Clyde C. Tyler and half sister Evelyn Marks that also have died. He is survived by two nephews Russell W. Gordy of Huntingtown, MD and R. Wayne Gordy of Chesapeake Beach, MD
