Thomas R. Palmer, 81, of Prince Frederick, MD passed away on October 2, 2011 in Prince Frederick, MD. He was born July 15, 1930 in Kingsport, TN to the late Basil and Margaret Begley Palmer. Mr. Palmer served in the Navy from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Occupation Medal, Korean Service Medal with 1 star and the United Nations Service Medal. After his time in the service, he graduated from University of Maryland and went to work as a Pharmacist until his retirement in 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine B. Palmer of Prince Frederick, MD, father of Linda McClure of Fredericksburg, VA and Michael Palmer of Camp Springs, MD. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday October 11, 2011, 11 AM at the Chapel in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. Interment will follow in the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be made to American Cancer Society.
