Henry William Kuehnle, Jr., also known as Bo and / or Hank, 83, of Solomons, MD formerly of Gaithersburg, MD passed away on May 2, 2010 in St. Mary’s Hospital, Leonardtown, MD. He was born on May 9, 1926 in Baltimore, MD to the late Henry William and Frances Anna Kuehnle. He married Mary Norma Mattingly on August 6, 1950 in Baltimore, MD. Henry graduated from City College and then John Hopkins University with a PhD equivalent. He served in the Army from 1944 – 1946 and was one of the first eight soldiers to enter Japan at the end of WWII. He went on to work for IBM as a Systems Analyst and retired in 1960 after 30 years of service. Henry and Norma moved from Gaithersburg to Calvert Co. in 1960. Henry enjoyed watercolor painting. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Frances Overstreet. Henry is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary Norma Kuehnle of Solomons, MD; daughter, Holly Virginia Kuehnle of Drum point, MD; siblings Maryann Leushner of Sykesville, MD and Margaret Bryant of Brooklyn Park, MD. A private graveside service was held on May 5, 2010 at Solomons United Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Faith Lewis officiating. Arrangements were provided by Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., Lusby, MD.
